The Colonial City is likely to be the safest area in the Dominican Republic. There is a lot of police presence (CESTUR) and you may be as safe as if you were walking through the center of a European or North American city. But nowhere in the world is 100% safe and that's why we advise you to leave your expensive jewelry at home and only carry what is necessary. El Conde Street, the main road, is quiet 24 hours a day and it is only a few steps away from the hotel. From this street you will find all the best tourist attractions, bars and restaurants.
Taxi drivers in the Dominican Republic are part of a powerful union that has done its best to make the only easy way out of the airport a private taxi or vehicle. From Las Américas airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo there is no public transport. The only way to leave the airport is by taxi or private vehicle. We recommend that you book our transportation service as it is cheaper and safer than to come with an unknown driver. In addition, many airport drivers get easily lost in the Colonial City.
When you arrive you can park your car on the street outside the hotel, there are no restrictions. We have parking but space is limited so you will have to reserve a space before arriving. If our parking lot is full there is another public parking lot near the house to which we can direct you.
Our staff at Casa Sánchez Boutique Hotel will be happy to guide you if you want to rent a vehicle. In Santo Domingo you will find all the best known rental companies.
Check-In is from three in the afternoon and Check-Out is at noon. If you need an early Check-In or late Check-Out it won't be a problem. We offer a Check-In service from ten in the morning, you can take advantage of breakfast if you arrive early with this service: it costs US$35, plus taxes. We also offer late Check-Out until five in the afternoon for the same price.
You can leave your luggage at no additional cost before or after your Check-In or Check Out.
